ABOUT

After graduating from the Germaine School of Photography in New York City 1983, Doug entered the job market eventually becoming full time assistant for famed photographer Bruce Weber. This is when his love for fashion, travel, & imagery grew. Upon completion of his apprenticeship in 1989, Doug moved to Milano Italy to peruse his own career as a fashion photographer.

He eventually received an introduction to the Versace Family, beginning a long-term working relationship with Donatella Versace. Initial projects included press & catalog shoots, as well as backstage reportage for numerous fashion shows each season.

Later he was given the main campaign for Versace Uomo, as well as the campaign for the newly released Versus line. Some of the most visible photos were done for Versace’s Miami series, compiled in the book entitled “South Beach Stories”.

He frequently moves his base between New York & Milano, working for a variety of fashion & travel clients. His current focus is shooting new work in Milano, as well as producing exhibits of the imagery from the past. He is also spending time in Costa Rica working on personal projects.
